A child knows no different than to give love
but hate is learned…through different ways
when push is brought to shove…
or spread through mean play
the child slowly looses love.
Gone are the days of play
when the child becomes a teen
seldom is it seen…
that love is more than one’s own need
often foolishness leads to greed.
Occasionally religion corrects
the issues and make one take heed.
But then as an adult life redirects…
Often its course is not the one planned
and compromise leads to calloused hands.
But here is where wisdom can sometimes be found,
at the moment when one is tired of being kicked around.
Old folks know this wisdom all too well…
children know only love
and fighting is not what comes from above.
Wisdom is learning how to love like a child again
because hate is not what we want around us in the end.
